Job Summary:
Reporting to the management team, the Human Resources Manager will act as a strategic link between the company’s management, its employees and the HR department by directing functions such as recruitment, training, succession planning, compensation/performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, regulatory compliance and payroll. The ideal candidate will shape the organizational culture through the alignment of staff strategy with business goals, foster a positive and collaborative company culture and manage HR policies.
Duties / Responsibilities:
General:
Collaborate with management in actively participating in company strategic planning, in an effort to understand priorities and goals; develop HR policies to support those goals, including workforce planning, talent acquisition and retention initiatives.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
Manage and direct the full-cycle recruiting process, to include writing job descriptions, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews and managing the integration of new hires;
Complete I-9 forms and required documentation; file in appropriate binder;
Identify employee training needs and work with managers to design and deliver relevant training programs.
Employee Relations:
Resolve employee conflicts, conduct investigations, assist with disciplinary actions, address grievances, mediate disputes, provide advice and consult department managers on sensitive employee issues;
Maintain company organizational charts and employee phone directory.
Communication:
Continually update methods on clear and concise communication from the management teams to the employees, in fostering a collaborative working environment;
Maintain regular contact with staff to continually update and inform them when a new employee starts, changes to policies and procedures.
Compliance & Policy:
Ensure the organization adheres to local, state and federal labor laws (FMLA, FLSA);
Update the employee handbook and maintain accurate and confidential employee records;
Oversee worker’s compensation claims, prepare and file OSHA logs, pull reports and OHSA data as needed;
Submit accurate state and federal compliance survey data on a regular basis.
Compensation & Benefits:
Research industry standards to set competitive salary structures;
Manage employee benefit programs to include, health-related insurance, retirement and profit sharing plans;
Manage and track employees’ paid time off, paid sick leave, leaves of absence entitlements and employee terminations;
Perform bi-weekly payroll processing and distribution through ADP;
Calculate commissions for sales employees;
Upload employees’ 401(K) contributions into internal software application on a bi-weekly basis;
Notify COBRA Administration for employee new hires and terminations.
Performance Management:
Oversee performance evaluation cycle and provide HR policy guidance to staff and managers;
Facilitate performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews and coaching for employees and managers;
Develop and oversee appraisal systems that tracks employee performance, provide feedback and facilitate professional growth through training programs.
Qualifications:
4-5 years of recent relevant experience in a similar human resources position;
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar discipline, preferred;
Proficiency with the MS Office suite of products and Paycom;
In-depth knowledge and understanding of employment laws, regulations and safety initiatives (OSHA);
Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
Astute time management, organizational, accuracy, multi-tasking, attention to detail, problem-solving, conflict resolution, presentation, customer service and follow-through skills;
Ability to work effectively alone and within a collaborative team environment.
Compensation:
$85K - $120K DOE for this full-time, exempt position.
Benefits:
80 hours of annual paid vacation during years 1-5 and allocated in a lump sum after 90 days of employment;
40 hours of annual paid personal time, allotted in a lump sum after 90 days of employment;
Medical, dental and vision insurance with choice of plans and employer paid premiums for employee and employee’s dependents;
HSA plan with employer contribution;
Basic life and AD&D insurance of $25K for employee;
Company profit sharing plan;
401(K) not employer matched.
