Nerd Ninjas is a fully remote, fast-moving, multidisciplinary team of creative professionals who work hard and play hard. We’re dedicated to creating engaging projects across mobile, desktop, & MR. 

We’re looking for an experienced Game Developer who brings strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience with AI and LLM tools. In this role, you’ll help create seamless, engaging player experiences and build systems that feel intuitive, responsive, and rewarding.

Responsibilities

  • Translate design specifications into functional game mechanics.
  • Communicate with other team members to establish effective pipelines and integrate media assets.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to address and mitigate them.
  • Help maintain code quality, cleanliness, & organization.
  • Engineer prompts used for AI and LLM development.
  • Be an active participant in documentation, noting pitfalls, and offering solutions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience developing games on multi-person teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of TypeScript or C#.
  • Experience implementing UI designs.
  • Experience with Mobile game development.
  • Familiarity with AI agent ecosystem (Claude, Copilot, or similar).
  • Understanding of AI agent rules and subagents. 
  • Ability to constantly learn and stay in touch with evolving game standards and development technologies.
  • Ability to adapt to new game engine technologies.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Familiarity with current design and architectural patterns.
  • Experience with game physics and particle systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of Git.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully remotely and be available during core team hours, M-F: 9:00am - 5pm Pacific Time.
  • A passion for games.
  • Must be a US or Canadian resident (unfortunately, visa sponsorships are not available; applicants outside North America will not be considered).

  • Experience creating Asset Store templates (Unity, Unreal, or other) 
  • Experience writing client-server architecture.
  • Experience with Noesis UI
  • Experience optimizing memory and space usage to optimize hardware performance.
  • Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
  • Experience with analytics & crash reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with a Dependency Injection Framework.
  • Experience with VR or AR.
  • Lives in the Pacific Northwest.

Salary Range for this position is: $80k - $130k depending on experience and ability
