Position Summary:
The Executive Director will lead the organization, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to those experiencing homelessness. This individual will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial health of the organization. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners to advance the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans that meet organizational goals and objectives.
Provide visionary and strategic leadership to the organization.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture within the organization.
Operations Management:
Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Ensure compliance with all relevant grants, laws, regulations, and policies.
Manage the shelter facilities to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for clients.
Financial Oversight:
Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Ensure financial stability and sustainability through sound fiscal management.
Oversee fundraising activities, including grant writing, donor relations, and special events.
Program Development and Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services.
Ensure programs align with the organization's mission and address the needs of the homeless population.
Implement best practices and evidence-based approaches in service delivery.
Community Engagement and Advocacy:
Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, representing it to the public, media, and key stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with community partners, government agencies, and other nonprofits.
Advocate for policies and initiatives that support homeless individuals and families.
Board Relations:
Support operations and administration of the Board by advising and informing Board members and interfacing between Board and staff.
Assist in the evaluation of Board members.
Participate in Board meetings and committees.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, business, or a related field.
Experience in a non-profit organization, preferably in homeless services or a related field.
Skills and Competencies:
Proven leadership and management skills.
Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in fundraising and resource development.
Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and relationships.
Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
